Nutt says no to Johnson

News out of Arkansas is that Houston Nutt has pulled Robert Johnson from being the starting QB and has in fact “suggested” that Johnson become a wide receiver instead. While Johnson wasn’t as razzle-dazzle as Mustain on his first drive, Johnson wasn’t the one coughing up the ball every time someone looked at him funny, and Johnson wasn’t the one who had the Hogs doing no-contact drills with the RBs either.

This isn’t as feeble as the ASU quarterback switcheroo, but it does make me wonder… if Mustain was that good in pre-season training, Dick had a bad back, and Johnson is solid but not great, AND Mustain is used to running the new look Arkansas offense: why not put him in as the starter from the get-go?

I suppose the rest of the season will show whether Nutt was too risk-averse for the first game of the season, or whether he’s too quick to crack…
