Motherwell Captain collapses and dies

Another untimely death in (real) football, this time in the Scottish Premiere League. Motherwell captain Phil O’Donnell collapsed on the field as he was about to be substituted in a 5 – 3 win over Dundee United. O’Donnell was rushed to a nearby hospital but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Mr O’Donnell, who was 35, was married with 4 children.  While it’s worth nothing from a stranger, my condolences go to all of his family and especially his wife and children.
